TIB Church believes in accountability and connection when it comes to church and community. Wendy Emsley is our amazing supervisor who helps keep it real and keep us connected.
Wendy has always been passionate about encouraging and supporting people who find themselves on the margins. She trained as a psychiatric nurse, working both in hospital and community settings. A highlight was working with her local church to help establish residential rehabilitation services for people with mental illness. After 20 years of working in mental health Wendy felt a call to become a Minister and worked in a variety of different roles within her local Baptist church. During this time she established a ministry at the church for people with intellectual disabilities. For the last 4 years Wendy returned to working in a health context and is currently the Chaplain for medium size hospital in New Zealand.
